On May 23rd , during an important period of expanding influence of the China Latin American and Caribbean Community Forum, a significant diplomatic and cultural exchange event was held at the Embassy of Guyana in China. Dr. Li Ruohong, Chairman of the China World Peace Foundation and President of the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, together with H.E. Mr. Zhang Run, Director General of the Department of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives from various Latin American and Caribbean countries' ambassadors to China, attended the celebration of the 59th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Guyana and participated in the grand event.

The atmosphere at the event was warm and friendly. President Li Ruohong and ambassadors from other countries discussed the Caribbean and multi country multilateral economic and technological development, cultural exchanges, new energy development and other fields, injected new momentum into the practical cooperation of the "Belt and Road" peace and public welfare project, and further enhanced mutual trust and friendship among all parties.
